About Us

There are almost two million farms in the USA. About 80% of those are small farms, and a large percentage are family owned. While the small family-owned farm has long been a celebrated institution in our nation, it is becoming increasingly harder for farmers to successfully fend off the encroachment of housing developments, shopping centers, office complexes, schools and open space which are gradually taking over land that used to be farmed. This is why River Bend Farms is so special and unique! 

River Bend Farms is located in the heart of Oklahoma’s Green County, just outside the city limits of Miami, Oklahoma. Our family farm consists of 180 diverse acres. The farm has been under the care of the Thomas Family since 2005. David and Margaret Thomas call River Bend Farms their special hideaway. Members of the Thomas Family have lived in and around Miami, Oklahoma for generations. They just love the natural beauty, fresh air and enduring spirit of a people that have occupied this native land since the dawn of time. 

River Bend Farms is home to some of the friendliest and most beautiful black and bay Clydesdale horses you have ever seen. Not to mention the adorable miniature donkeys and one male Manx cat named Six. We are committed to farming practices, which protect and nurture the soil and entire farm environment. That is why we have set aside 40 acres as restored wetlands and lovingly cultivate our distinctive 60 acre natural Pecan grove which produces the largest, best tasting Pecans at harvest time.  

We believe that the faithful stewardship of our farm promotes a healthy living environment for our farm animals, plants and trees from which we harvest "all the good things" life has to offer.
